EXUMA CAYS LAND & SEA PARK PRESENT THE BEST SNORKELING EXPERIENCES

Located just north of Great Exuma off Cistern Cay, the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park is one of the top attractions in all of the Bahamas. As the first park of its kind, Exuma Park was established in 1958 and continues to offer travelers the opportunity to experience some of the most incredible sea life, coral reefs, shipwrecks and more. Exuma Park boasts various reef diving and snorkeling experiences in a safe environment.

One of the best things about the park is you will be directed to prime snorkeling and scuba diving areas, making it so you can see all the waters have to offer without wasting any time searching for the best spots. The park offers guided snorkeling trips in the waters surrounding Shroud Cay, Hawksbill Cay, Warderwick Wells and Cambridge Cay.

Additionally, Exuma Park is home to one of the largest coral barrier reef in the Western hemisphere. This means there are many, many different spots to explore the reef and catch a glimpse of all kinds of exotic marine life, such as sea turtles, Nassau grouper and spiny lobster.

STOCKING ISLAND’S BEACHES CAN BE FOUND JUST OFF THE BEATEN PATH

Located just 30 minutes from Grand Isle Resort & Spa, there are three smaller islands that boast picturesque coral reefs perfect for snorkeling. Check out Elizabeth Island, Guana Cay and Fowl Cay for a reef experience off the beaten path. A popular sailboat destination, Stocking Island has many pristine, private beaches and sharks are common visitors inside the Hurricane Hole inlet.

AMBERJACK REEF: HOME TO THOUSANDS OF TROPICAL FISH

Amberjack Reef, not far from Great Exuma, spans 50 feet. It is home to many exotic tropical fish, and you might be lucky enough to spot sharks, large grouper and smaller critters, such as pirate blennies, garden eels and horse-eye jack, commonly found underneath the yacht used for transporting reef divers.

BARRACUDA SHOALS: CONVENIENTLY LOCATED BY GRAND ISLE AND PICTURESQUE

Situated just 24 minutes from Grand Isle Resort & Spa, the Barracuda Shoals are located on Allen’s Cay. This is a great spot for snorkeling and reef diving, as it is a bankside patch reef that boasts huge schools of fish, smaller critters and pristine waters.

There are many different options on Great Exuma and the surrounding cays for reef diving and snorkeling, all of which are sure to leave you in awe.
