Because there are so many fantastic restaurants in the Bahamas, finding ones that offer up the ambiance, intimacy and overall experience you are looking for can be a challenge. Below we have four ideas for some of the most romantic restaurants in the Bahamas, giving you a better idea of what to expect and where you should plan on dining during your stay.

RESTAURANT OPTION #1: DUNE
A cutting-edge restaurant located on Paradise Island/Nassau, Dune is owned and operated by French-born restaurateur Jean-Georges Vongerichten, who is behind many famous New York City spots. The French-Asian dishes with a Bahamian twist are divine and the ambiance is one-of-a-kind. In fact, the restaurant is located in the One&Only Ocean Club, easily one of the finest resorts in the entire Caribbean.

RESTAURANT OPTION #2: MAHOGANY HOUSE
Elegance mixed with simplicity is the name of the game.

This beautiful bar and restaurant is tucked just beyond Lyford Cay in western New Providence. The drive itself is a pleasure. The western part of the island, which is home to the capital city of Nassau, is picturesque and less densely populated. At Mahogany House, you will rub shoulders with wealthy Bahamians and second-home owners from abroad. The bar area is great for sipping a glass of wine and nibbling on a spread of meats and cheeses. The main dining room offers a wide array of luxurious dishes, prepared simply but with fine ingredients.

RESTAURANT OPTION #3: THE PALAPA GRILL
If you’re staying at Grand Isle, it is impossible to miss. The restaurant is located right beside the infinity pool, and features a formal, elevated space under a thatched hut. Every seat in the house has a great view of the pool and the ocean in the distance. Grand Isle is perched just above Emerald Bay beach, which helps deliver these gorgeous vistas.

For a romantic night, be sure to reserve a table in the hut, and make sure you’re as close to the pool as possible. Those tables afford the most spectacular views, especially during sunset as you enjoy a beautiful meal and a few drinks.

At Palapa Grill, you can expect a bit of everything: conch fritters, Bahamian lobster tail, filet minion, rack of lamb and thin-crust pizzas.

If you’re not staying at Grand Isle, you can reach The Palapa Grill off the main highway. When driving away from George Town International Airport, simply take note of the Sandals sign. Continue down the highway and make a right-hand turn off the next roundabout towards Grand Isle.

RESTAURANT OPTION #4: NOBU
One of more than 15 outposts located throughout the world, the Bahamas’ Nobu is located in Atlantis, just beyond the resort’s casino. Serving Peruvian-influenced Japanese dishes, the restaurant’s setting is glamorous and the cuisine is superb.

A large bar as you enter through lit-up, green arches offers a romantic alternative, in case you’re just looking to drink cocktails and share a few rolls.
