GRAND ISLE HEATS UP FOR WINTER OLYMPICS

To say that Grand Isle Resort & Spa has a “golden” opportunity is perhaps an understatement.

From February 9th until February 23rd, the resort will be home to a sparkling trove of Olympic medals, courtesy of two separate delegations of elite athletes from Canada.

The event, dubbed Sochi Under the Sun, is in partnership with Commonwealth Games Canada and Canadian Athletes Now Fund (CAN Fund). Former Olympic athletes, along with a group of players from the National Hockey League, will call Grand Isle home and take in the Games by the beach.

Grand Isle is always searching for the new exciting event, bringing together interesting people in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Sochi Under the Sun is perhaps the best opportunity yet to see it for yourself.

Athletes include Simon Whitfield, Olympic Gold Medalist in Sydney (Triathlon), Katie Weatherston, Gold Medalist in Torino (Women’s Hockey), Benoit Huot, multiple Gold Medalist in the Commonwealth and Paralympic Games (Swimming), John Morris, Gold Medalist in Vancouver (Curling), Rachelle Viinberg, Silver Medalist in London (Rowing), Desiree Scott, Bronze Medalist in London (Women’s Soccer) and Beach Volleyball Olympians Conrad Leinemann from Sydney and Josh Binstock from London.

Highlights include a spirited road hockey game on Farmer’s Cay on February 11. Located not far from the main island of Exuma, the remote island has an airstrip where Olympians, NHL players and average Joe’s can cross sticks, followed by lunch at Ty’s Bar and Grill.

On February 22nd, Grand Isle will host a Dinner of Champions for the athletes. Tickets are $80, and proceeds go towards these Canadian athletic charities.

To commemorate the Games, Grand Isle is pleased to offer a 30% discount off your entirely stay and a $125 resort credit.

And for those wishing to help our athletes, a $10,000 donation will get you 85% off your villa of choice for up to two weeks, which can be used during Sochi Under the Sun or any other time of year, excluding Christmas and March Break. Tax receipts are available.

The donation also includes an “experience” with one of our athletes, such as run on the beach or a swim in the ocean, and entrance into the Dinner of Champions on February 22nd.

We promise it will be the most memorable Olympics of your life.
